Dental and Craniofacial AnthropologyThe book is intended for students of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb as part of the Dental Anthropology course, which is held as part of the undergraduate course of Anthropology Studies. Its purpose is to acquaint the students with the craniofacial system from different anthropological perspectives – anatomical, histological, physiological and pathophysiological, morphological, functional, evolutionary, medical, forensic, social, humanistic, sociobiological and evolutionary psychological, historical, public health, historical . It is a university textbook with a large number of contributors that consists of 12 main chapters – sections. Each section is made up of several sub-chapters attended by several different co-authors. Co-authors are highly respected experts and scientists from Croatia and abroad who, each in their own field, bring the best modern knowledge in the processing of particular topics. The style is understandable and interesting to students of non-medical as well as medical studies. Our wish is for the book to address the topics of teeth, jaws and faces in an interesting way so that it can find a readership outside the student’s frame. We asked all co-authors to make the writing style subtle and the content dense; that is, the book provides a lot of information in an easily accessible way. Images include drawings, photographs, histograms and all other illustrations. All images are copyrighted or licensed for use. The literature is cited at the end of the chapter and cited according to Harvard style.
